By Giggles Anderson
Frogs planned the task.
Seals shone the light.
May Day!
May Day!
Shots rang.
Air sang.
Bullets lit up the night
in a distant land.
May Day!
May Day!
A tale without pictures.
An unfinished book.
May Day!
May Day!
He is buried at Sea.
May Day!
May Day!
The world cried
in several languages
as the waters reached the shore.
May Day!
May Day!
I planted my brother.
I planted my son.
I am raising my children alone.
My love is gone.
May Day!
May Day!
Wails beached themselves
like a key floating
in the wrong lock.
A pod charging itself
on the dock.
May Day!
May Day!
Sky stroked.
Sun soaked.
My neighbor
planted a stake
and raised our Flag.
Twins sighed.
Wind tiptoed by.
Our safety?
At bay.
